Indian Market Drivers

Nifty 50 opened at 22,690.45 and came under pressure as the session progressed, with the benchmark slipping below the 22,600 mark. The index had earlier touched an intraday level of 22,630.90 at 2:35 PM before settling lower. Over the past 52 weeks, Nifty 50 has traded in a range of 22,182.55 to 26,373.20, with the current level indicating continued consolidation near the lower end of this band. The index has declined 4.99% from its recent average of 23,143.47. Market participants monitored stock performance across 13 different sectors, though detailed FII/DII flow data for the session was not immediately available.

GIFT NIFTY opened Session I at 22,776.5 and traded in a 320-point range between a high of 22,893.5 and a low of 22,573.5. The contract saw sharp volatility during Indian market hours, with notable selling pressure accelerating post-noon. The derivative contract weakened through the afternoon, briefly touching session lows near 22,573 before settling at 22,599.5.
