European Indices Power Higher on U.S.-Iran Ceasefire Deal

European markets surged in afternoon trade following a U.S.-Iran ceasefire deal, with major indices posting gains of 2% to 4.6% by the time GIFT NIFTY reopened. Germany's DAX led the rally, jumping 1,060.92 points to 23,982.51, a gain of 4.63%. The move represented one of the strongest single-day advances for the German benchmark in recent months.

Britain's FTSE 100 rose 271.87 points to 10,620.66, up 2.63%, while France's CAC 40 climbed 309.53 points to 8,218.27. Broader European indices showed similar strength, with the Euro Stoxx 50 gaining ground across the region. The rally reflected easing geopolitical tensions and a surge in risk appetite across European equity markets.

The strong performance in Europe came after Monday's session saw the Euro Stoxx 50 close at 5,633.22, down 59.64 points or 1.05%. Tuesday's reversal marked a sharp turnaround in sentiment, with all major European bourses trading in positive territory by mid-afternoon.

Session II Outlook

GIFT NIFTY is currently trading near its day high at 24,110, having extended early gains through the first 90 minutes of Session II. The contract will continue trading until 02:45 AM IST, with European markets set to close around 21:00-22:00 IST, which could influence late-session volatility. The opening gap and sustained buying suggest traders are pricing in spillover strength from the European rally.
