GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 23,625 at 16:35 IST, edging up just 7 points or 0.03% from its Session I close of 23,618. The index opened nearly flat, marking a cautious start to the evening session.

The marginal gap reflected muted directional conviction as traders assessed European market cues. By 19:09 IST, GIFT NIFTY had retreated to 23,490, slipping below both its previous day close of 23,490.5 and the Session II opening level. The index is now trading virtually unchanged from the previous day close, down just 0.5 points.

European Markets Trade Mixed to Lower

European indices presented a mixed picture during their mid-session window as GIFT NIFTY Session II commenced. The DAX 40 declined 226.52 points or 0.87% to 25,781.11, while the CAC 40 fell 83.55 points or 1.00% to 8,234.43, according to available index data. Both Frankfurt and Paris bourses traded under pressure during the European afternoon.

The Euro Stoxx 50, Europe's blue-chip benchmark tracking 50 leading Eurozone stocks, closed its September 8 session at 6,413.17, up 9.18 points or 0.14%. The index represents supersector leaders across twelve Euro Area countries and provides a broader gauge of continental sentiment alongside the national benchmarks.

The FTSE 100 showed relative resilience in one earlier session, ending at 10,737.1 with a gain of roughly 0.16%, while the DAX fell 0.64% and the CAC 40 dropped 0.73% over the same period. However, current mid-session levels for London's benchmark were not available in the data.
