GIFT NIFTY Opens Session II With Minor Gap Down

GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 24,403, down 8 points or 0.03% from the Session I close of 24,411. The marginal gap lower kept the index within tight range as traders assessed mixed cues from European markets three hours into their trading day.

The opening candle at 16:35 saw the index touch a low of 24,400 before recovering to close the first five minutes at 24,416. The index was last trading at 24,401.50, up 5.50 points or 0.02% from the previous day's close of 24,396.

European Markets Show Divergent Trends Mid-Session

European indices were trading mixed as GIFT NIFTY entered Session II, with Germany's DAX 40 outperforming while France's CAC 40 declined. The DAX was up 0.50%, adding 42.24 points to trade at 8,481.44, while the CAC 40 slipped 0.16%, losing 13.81 points to 8,439.20.

Britain's FTSE 100 edged higher by 0.29%, gaining 31.84 points to reach 10,886.16. The Euro Stoxx 50, which tracks Eurozone supersector leaders, added 0.12%, rising 7.65 points to close at 6,455.63 in its trading session. The broader STOXX Europe 600 advanced 0.4% to 657, reflecting a cautiously positive tone across the region.

GIFT NIFTY maintained a narrow trading band in the opening minutes of Session II, with the first three candles establishing a range between 24,400 and 24,434.50. The index was trading near the lower end of this range at 24,401.50 as of 19:09 IST, with Session II running until 02:45 AM and European markets set to close around 21:30-22:00 IST, which could bring further directional cues.
