GIFT NIFTY Opens Session II With Modest Gap

GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 24,155 at 16:35 IST on Monday, posting a marginal gap of 22 points or 0.09% above the Session I close of 24,133. The opening was cautious, with the index trading in a narrow 20-point range in the first candle before settling at 24,142.

The modest uptick in Session II came despite GIFT NIFTY remaining under pressure for the day, trading 29.5 points or 0.12% below the previous day's close of 24,169.5. The day's cumulative high of 24,260 was recorded during Session I, while the low of 24,107 also came in the morning session.

European Markets Trade Mixed at Mid-Session

European equity indices were trading mixed as GIFT NIFTY reopened, providing a muted backdrop for the evening session. The lack of directional conviction in European markets reflected a quiet macro backdrop, with no major economic releases or central bank commentary driving sentiment. European natural gas prices extended gains during the session, though the impact on broader equity indices remained limited.

GIFT NIFTY Outlook for Session II

GIFT NIFTY was trading at 24,140 as of 19:10 IST, holding close to the Session II opening level. The index has traded in a tight 13.5-point range since reopening, with early candles showing 24,147 as the high and 24,133.5 as the low. With European markets set to close around 21:00-22:00 IST and Session II running until 02:45 AM IST, further volatility could emerge in late evening trade depending on any fresh macro developments.
