European Markets Show Muted Mid-Session Performance

European indices were trading with marginal moves as GIFT NIFTY Session II commenced, offering little directional impetus. Available market data pointed to lacklustre performance across major bourses, with indices hovering near their opening levels mid-session.

The FTSE 100 had closed its previous session at 10,409.28, down 16.72 points or 0.16%. France's CAC 40 last settled at 8,183.34, shedding 5.53 points or 0.07%. Germany's DAX showed a fractional gain of 0.07% in recent data. The Euro Stoxx 50 finished its prior session at 6,050.54, declining 4.57 points or 0.08%, with intraday levels spanning 6,043.40 to 6,065.07.

The subdued tone across European markets reflected an absence of fresh catalysts, with investors digesting recent economic data and awaiting further policy cues. No significant sectoral drivers emerged from the available market commentary, and broader sentiment remained range-bound as the London, Frankfurt, and Paris exchanges progressed through afternoon trade.

Session II Outlook

GIFT NIFTY is trading below both its Session I close and the previous day's settlement, with the index hovering around 23,440 in early Session II action. European markets will close during the overnight session — around 21:00-22:00 IST — which could prompt further repositioning ahead of US futures opening.
