GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 22,624.5, unchanged from its Session I close of 22,624.5, showing no gap between the two sessions. The contract held its ground even as European markets traded firmly in the red during their mid-session window.

The index traded 133.5 points or 0.59% above the previous day's close of 22,491.0, with the day's gains entirely accrued during Session I. The day's range so far spanned from a low of 22,278.0 to a high of 22,700.0, both recorded in the morning session.

European Markets Post Broad Losses

European indices were under pressure by the time GIFT NIFTY reopened at 16:35 IST, with all major bourses trading lower. The DAX fell 259.84 points or 1.03% to 24,939.35, while the CAC 40 Index dropped 129.20 points or 1.62% to 7,835.31. The FTSE 100 declined 177.73 points or 1.68% to 10,428.27, marking the steepest percentage loss among the three.

The Euro Stoxx 50, the region's blue-chip benchmark, closed down 93.57 points or 1.49% at 6,175.45, according to delayed quotes. The index had been tracking near July 2026 lows, with recent data showing a 2.53% decline over the past four weeks as eurozone equities came under broader selling pressure.

Other European bourses followed suit. The FTSE MIB Index in Italy added 426.25 points or 0.85% to 50,664.11, while Spain's IBEX 35 Index gained 209.70 points or 1.10% to 19,215.00. The divergence in performance across the region suggested uneven sectoral or country-specific flows, though details on specific catalysts remained absent from available market data.

GIFT NIFTY Session II Outlook
