GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 24,626, down a marginal 2 points or 0.01% from the Session I close of 24,628. The near-flat gap reflected cautious positioning ahead of the European market close, despite major European indices trading at record levels during the afternoon session.

The contract opened at 24,626 at 16:35 IST and immediately tested 24,600.50 in the opening five minutes before settling at 24,612. By 19:10 IST, GIFT NIFTY had recovered to 24,671.50, trading 30 points or 0.12% above the previous day's close of 24,641.50. The day's cumulative range across both sessions spanned 24,593.50 to 24,704.50.

European Markets Set Record Highs

The synchronised advance across European markets came as investors digested corporate earnings, with the Euro Stoxx 50's constituents representing a combined market capitalisation of €4.01 trillion. All three major indices — the DAX, CAC 40, and FTSE 100 — traded in positive territory throughout the afternoon, providing a supportive backdrop for GIFT NIFTY's Session II open.
