European Markets Provide Modest Tailwind

European indices were trading in positive territory during Session II's opening window, offering a supportive backdrop for GIFT NIFTY. The DAX was trading at 26,202.35, up 201.04 points or 0.77%, while the CAC 40 stood at 8,666.63, gaining 52.81 points or 0.61%. The Euro Stoxx 50, which tracks blue-chip stocks across the Eurozone, closed its previous session at 6,486.70, up 60.20 points or 0.94% at 18:00 GMT+2 on August 4. The broader European market tone remained constructive as investors digested corporate earnings and macro developments, with the FTSE 100 also participating in the advance, though specific levels for the UK benchmark were not immediately available in real-time feeds.

The positive European session suggested a degree of risk appetite had returned to global markets, though the gains remained measured. With European markets set to close around 21:00-22:00 IST during GIFT NIFTY's Session II, further volatility could emerge as liquidity thins and overnight Asian sentiment begins to take hold.

After opening at 24,599.50, the index dipped to 24,572 by 16:45 IST before recovering to current levels near 24,656. Session II runs until 02:45 IST on August 6, providing ample time for repositioning ahead of the next Indian cash market open.
