GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 23,990 at 16:35 IST, a marginal gain of 7.5 points or 0.03% from the Session I close of 23,982.5. The near-flat gap reflects a cautious start to the evening session despite positive cues from European markets, which have been trading higher for the past three hours.

The opening candle ranged between 23,971 and 23,991.5 before closing at 23,974.5. By 19:10 IST, GIFT NIFTY was trading at 24,073.5, down 25 points or 0.1% from the previous day's close of 24,098.5. The day's high of 24,120 was hit during Session I, while the day's low of 23,880 also came earlier in the day.

European Markets Drive Mid-Session Momentum

European equity indices were trading in positive territory during GIFT NIFTY's Session II open, providing a constructive backdrop for the evening session. The DAX 40 was up 1.15% to 24,888.56, adding 281.79 points, while the CAC 40 gained 0.37% to 8,115.75. The FTSE 100 advanced 0.22% to 10,466.26, up 22.76 points at the close of London trading.

The broader Euro Stoxx 50 index climbed 0.99% to 6,019.45, gaining 59.13 points. The pan-European rally was broad-based, with the FTSE MIB in Italy rising 342.27 points to 49,510.97. Germany's DAX led the charge among major indices, reflecting stronger risk appetite across continental European markets.

The index is currently holding above Session I levels despite trading below the previous day's close.
