GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 24,321 at 16:35 IST on July 29, posting a marginal gap of 16 points (0.07%) above the Session I close of 24,305. The opening candle traded in a narrow range between 24,313.5 and 24,323 before settling at 24,317.5.

The near-flat reopening came as the index held 18 points (0.07%) above the previous day's close of 24,303. The day's cumulative range across both sessions spanned from 24,202 to 24,339, with the last traded price at 24,310.5 as of 19:09 IST.

European Markets Trade in Positive Territory

European indices provided the primary cues for Session II after trading for over three hours by the time GIFT NIFTY reopened. The Euro Stoxx 50 added 0.2% to close at 6,294 on Tuesday, according to market data, while the STOXX Europe 600 gained 0.4% to 647.

Mixed signals emerged from individual European bourses. The CAC 40 stood at 8,417.66, down 41.12 points, according to European market data. The DAX traded at 25,394.46, declining 69.55 points from previous levels. Data showed the FTSE 100 at 10,881.47, up 0.10%.

Earlier snapshots had shown the DAX at 25,464.01, up 0.41% or 102.98 points, while the CAC 40 traded at 8,458.78, gaining 0.63% or 52.72 points. These mid-session fluctuations reflected intraday volatility across European trading desks as Session II opened in India.

Session II Range Takes Shape

GIFT NIFTY extended gains in early Session II trading, with the 16:45 candle pushing to 24,332.5 from the opening level of 24,321. The index held above the day open of 24,292.5 recorded at Session I's 06:30 start. With European markets scheduled to close around 21:00-22:00 IST during Session II's run until 02:45 the next morning, further directional moves could emerge as global cues evolve through the overnight session.
