GIFT NIFTY Opens Session II Nearly Flat at 24,123 as European Indices Edge Higher

GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 24,123, a marginal gap of 17 points or 0.07% above the Session I close of 24,106. The index opened in positive territory tracking cautious gains across European bourses, which had been trading for over three hours by the time GIFT NIFTY resumed at 16:35 IST.

The minimal session gap reflected a subdued start to the evening session. Against the previous day's settlement of 24,116, GIFT NIFTY was trading 19 points or 0.08% lower as of 19:09 IST, having registered a day high of 24,147 and day low of 23,982 across both sessions combined.

European Markets Trade Mixed to Higher

European indices were showing modest gains in mid-session trade, providing a constructive backdrop for GIFT NIFTY's Session II open. The DAX was trading at 24,274.73, up 0.60%, while the CAC 40 advanced 0.41% to 8,191.62. The FTSE 100 was marginally higher at 10,392.29, gaining 0.13%.

Earlier in the session, the DAX had climbed to 24,240.40, up 111.42 points or 0.46%, while the FTSE 100 stood at 10,383.05, adding 3.97 points or 0.04%. The Euro Stoxx 50 was trading at 5,885.32, up 1.84 points or 0.03%, having opened at 5,883.6 against a previous close of 5,880.75.

The cautious uptrend in European equities came despite reports of stalled U.S.-Iran talks, which failed to weigh significantly on sentiment during the afternoon session. Market participants appeared to be balancing geopolitical uncertainties against underlying economic data and corporate fundamentals.

Session II Range and Outlook

GIFT NIFTY's Session II opening candle showed a range of 24,113.5 to 24,130 before settling at 24,120. The index was last trading at 24,097, slightly below the Session II opening level. With European markets scheduled to close around 21:30-22:00 IST and Session II running until 02:45 AM, further directional cues could emerge as overnight trading progresses.
