GIFT Nifty reopened for Session II at 24,116.5 at 16:35 IST on June 18, down 15.5 points or 0.06% from the Session I close of 24,132.0. The marginal gap lower extended the contract's decline from the previous day close of 24,192.5, with the index now trading 80.5 points or 0.33% lower for the day.

The contract slipped further in early Session II trade, with the opening five-minute candle recording a low of 24,103.0 before settling at 24,105.5. By 19:10 IST, GIFT Nifty was trading at 24,112.0, holding within a tight 19-point band from the Session II open.

European Markets Show Mixed Mid-Session Cues

European equity indices presented a mixed picture in afternoon trade as GIFT Nifty entered its evening session. The Euro Stoxx 50 was trading at 6,321.30, up 21.23 points or 0.34%, according to delayed quotes as of 9:43 AM GMT+2. The pan-European benchmark opened at 6,301.11 and established a session range between 6,282.22 and 6,331.15.

The FTSE 100 advanced 114.48 points or 1.11% to 10,418.36 as of 12:51 PM GMT+1, outperforming continental peers. The London benchmark's rally provided some support to risk sentiment, though the gains came amid limited visibility on sector-specific drivers from available market data.
