GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 23,940.5 at 16:35 IST on June 15, slipping 8 points or 0.03% from the Session I close of 23,948.5. The index opened nearly flat despite a strong rally in European markets through the afternoon.

The marginal gap lower followed a firm Session I close, which saw GIFT NIFTY finish the opening session at its intraday high of 23,948.5. On the day, the index remains up 48 points or 0.2% from the previous close of 23,891, having traded in a 252.5-point range between 23,794.5 and 24,047 across both sessions.

European Markets Power Higher Mid-Session

European equities were trading sharply higher by the time GIFT NIFTY reopened, providing a positive backdrop for Session II. The FTSE 100 was up 114.48 points or 1.11% at 10,418.36 as of 12:51 PM GMT+1, according to live market data. Germany's DAX climbed 1.57% to 24,590.31, while France's CAC 40 surged 1.80% to 8,348.27.

The Euro Stoxx 50, the blue-chip benchmark for the eurozone, advanced 1.64% to 6,289.40 as of 9:16 AM GMT+2. The broad-based gains across European bourses reflected improving risk sentiment, with the FTSE 100 adding 167.84 points and the FTSE 250 climbing 1.55% to 23,325.71.

The rally in European markets marked a continuation of gains from earlier in the session, with Germany's DAX adding 425.59 points or 1.76% to reach 24,635.30 in earlier trading. The advance came as European indices rebounded from recent volatility, with sector leaders across the Euro Stoxx 50 posting gains through the afternoon session.

Session II Early Trading

GIFT NIFTY traded within a narrow 16.5-point range in the opening minutes of Session II, touching a high of 23,944 and a low of 23,927.5 in the first candle. By 19:10 IST, the index was trading at 23,939, down 9.5 points from the Session II open and holding near the lower end of the opening range. Session II runs through 02:45 AM IST, with European markets scheduled to close around 9-10 PM IST, which could bring further directional cues as the session progresses.
