European Markets Drive Session II Cues

European equity indices posted gains in mid-session trading, providing a constructive backdrop for GIFT NIFTY's Session II reopening. The FTSE 100 rose 128.38 points or 1.26% to 10,323.75, while the DAX climbed 1.49% to 24,307.92. The CAC 40 advanced 0.44% to 7,987.49, according to market data available as of the Session II open.

The FTSE 100 was leading the advance among major European bourses, with the index up 60.87 points or 0.59% to 10,384.62 as of 10:25 AM London time, based on delayed quotes. The Euro Stoxx 50, the Eurozone's blue-chip benchmark, also edged higher, adding to gains from the previous session.

European trading has been in progress for approximately three hours by the time GIFT NIFTY's Session II commenced, with London, Frankfurt and Paris markets having opened around 13:00-13:30 IST. The positive mid-session momentum in European equities reflected sustained investor interest in Eurozone and UK stocks, though the modest gap lower in GIFT NIFTY suggested some divergence in sentiment heading into the evening session.

Session II Outlook

GIFT NIFTY's Session II will run until 02:45 AM IST, with European markets set to close around 21:00-22:00 IST, potentially bringing fresh volatility as liquidity thins. The index has so far posted a day high of 23,773.0 and a day low of 23,558.0 across both sessions, with the current trading level below the Session II opening price indicating early weakness despite the European tailwind.
