GIFT NIFTY Opens Marginally Higher at 23,330 Tracking Regional Gains

GIFT NIFTY opened 33 points higher at 23,330, extending gains in early trade as Asian markets posted broad-based advances led by Nikkei's 1.38% surge.

GIFT NIFTY opened marginally higher at 23,330 on Monday morning, up 33 points or 0.14% from Friday's close of 23,297. The early session saw the index build on its opening gap, climbing to an intraday high of 23,346.5 within the first fifteen minutes of trade.

The index opened firm and held above the 23,300 mark through the initial candles. After opening at 23,310 in the 09:00 session, GIFT NIFTY pushed higher in the subsequent five-minute period, touching 23,346.5 before settling near 23,337 as of 09:15 IST. The early range spanned 23,307 to 23,346.5, with the index last trading at 23,337, up 40 points or 0.17%.

Asian Markets Provide Positive Cues

GIFT NIFTY tracked a broadly positive session across Asian markets. Japan's Nikkei 225 posted the strongest gains in the region, closing up 882.75 points or 1.38% at 65,018.95 on September 18. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index advanced 146.49 points or 0.60% to 24,750.78, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 50.04 points to 8,225.40.

The Shanghai SE Composite climbed 0.94% to 3,911.87, adding to the positive momentum across the region. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 bucked the trend, slipping 1.20 points to 8,731.20.

Indian Cash Market Opens

The Indian cash market opened in line with GIFT NIFTY's early gains. The Nifty 50 advanced 75.80 points to 23,346.40 at the 09:15 IST open, mirroring the trajectory seen in the offshore futures contract.
