GIFT NIFTY opened at 24,433.0 on Tuesday, gaining 75.5 points or 0.3% from the previous close of 24,357.5, as traders positioned ahead of the Indian cash market open at 09:15 IST. The index touched an early high of 24,469.0 before pulling back to trade at 24,410.0 by the time domestic markets commenced trading.

The early session showed initial strength through the first half-hour, with GIFT NIFTY holding above the 24,400 mark and testing resistance near 24,435. However, the index lost momentum after 00:40 IST, sliding from 24,409.5 to a session low of 24,392.5 over the next 30 minutes. The decline accelerated past the 01:00 mark, with a sharp drop to 24,355.0 erasing the opening gains entirely.

Asian markets traded mixed during GIFT NIFTY's early session. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.48% to 26,487.48, adding 126.41 points, while the Nikkei 225 showed minimal movement at 59,348.91, down just 0.26 points or virtually unchanged from the previous close. The Nikkei had opened at 59,031.51 and ranged between 59,004.76 and 59,611.91 during the session.

Geopolitical developments influenced sentiment across the region, with reports indicating concerns over U.S.-Iran tensions. The S&P BSE Sensex opened at 79,273.33 in the domestic session, according to market data, as Indian equities absorbed the overnight cues from Wall Street and Asia.
