SSE Composite 3,882.41 -1.85%
Nifty 50 24,072.75 -0.02%

The broad-based weakness across Asian equities came as technology stocks faced renewed selling pressure. South Korean markets had earlier tumbled over 5% as tech heavyweights led the decline, adding to regional risk-off sentiment.

Indian Cash Market Opens Flat

India's Nifty 50 Index opened marginally lower at 24,072.75, down just 0.02%, showing resilience compared to sharper losses elsewhere in Asia. The muted domestic opening aligned with GIFT NIFTY's subdued start, as traders assessed the spillover impact from overnight weakness in developed markets.

GIFT NIFTY is currently trading at 24,139, holding above the session low but still down 0.13% from Thursday's close. The index has maintained a tight trading band since the open, suggesting cautious positioning as market participants monitor regional cues and await domestic triggers through the Indian trading day.
