Asian markets painted a mixed picture heading into the session. The Hang Seng Index closed Monday's session at 25,143.05, up 580.81 points or 2.36%, providing a bullish regional cue. Japan's Nikkei 225, however, showed more recent volatility with a previous close of 64,141.12, down 2,694.38 points or 4.03% from its prior session at 66,835.50. The Indian Nifty 50 Index opened domestic trading at 24,238.50, down 0.39% from its previous close, suggesting some caution among local traders despite GIFT NIFTY's marginal positive bias. The overnight price action in GIFT NIFTY showed sellers stepping in above the 24,200 mark, with the contract unable to sustain early gains and drifting lower through the Asian night session.

By 09:15 IST, GIFT NIFTY had recovered from its overnight lows, trading at 24,143.50 and up 29 points or 0.12% from Monday's close. The contract held above the psychological 24,100 level through the Indian market open, establishing a floor after the overnight selloff that had erased nearly 90 points from the session's peak. The narrow early morning range suggests traders are awaiting fresh domestic cues before committing to a directional bias.
