GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 23,364 on Tuesday evening, gapping down 67.5 points or 0.29% from the Session I close of 23,431.5. The opening marked a reversal from Session I's late rally, which had pushed the index to an intraday high of 23,445.

The negative gap extended into early Session II trade, with GIFT NIFTY sliding to 23,295.5 within the first 15 minutes of reopening. As of 7:10 PM IST, the index was trading at 23,157, down 23 points or 0.1% from the previous day's close of 23,180.

Mixed European Cues Ahead of Session II Open

European markets presented a mixed picture by mid-session, with no clear directional catalyst for GIFT NIFTY's Session II gap. The Euro Stoxx 50, Europe's blue-chip benchmark for the Eurozone, was trading at 6,058.05, up 8.31 points or 0.14% as of mid-afternoon European time, according to delayed quotes.

Intraday data showed the Euro Stoxx 50 opened at 6,058.79 and touched a session high of 6,149.17 before pulling back, with the low at 6,048.55. The index represents supersector leaders across the Eurozone and serves as a key barometer for European equity sentiment.

Individual country indices showed divergence. Germany's DAX was quoted at 24,433.06, down 183.16 points or 0.74% in delayed data. France's CAC 40 was marginally higher at 8,203.43, up 4.14 points or 0.05%. Specific intraday levels for the FTSE 100 were not available in mid-session data, though the index's market capitalization stood at £3.43 trillion.
