GIFT NIFTY reopened for Session II at 24,269, down 60 points or 0.25% from the Session I close of 24,329. The negative gap came despite modest gains across European equity markets, which had been trading for over three hours by the Session II open at 16:35 IST.

The index slipped further in early Session II trade, touching 24,262.50 in the opening five-minute candle before recovering marginally. By 19:10 IST, GIFT NIFTY was trading at 24,250.50, up 50.50 points or 0.21% from the previous day's close of 24,200 but below both the Session I close and the Session II open.

European Markets Trade Modestly Higher

European equity indices were in positive territory during mid-session trade, providing a supportive backdrop even as GIFT NIFTY opened lower. The DAX rose 19.82 points or 0.08% to 26,285.96, while the CAC 40 climbed 23.19 points or 0.27% to 8,462.39. The Euro Stoxx 50 gained 15.11 points or 0.23% to close at 6,470.74, and the broader Stoxx Europe 600 inched higher to 657.

The financial sector led gains in Europe, with Deutsche Bank surging 4.3% to pace the advance. The Euronext 100 Index added 2.73 points or 0.14% to 1,937.01. The FTSE 100 traded at 10,878.12, though detailed intraday performance data was not immediately available.

The Euro Currency Index stood at 116.53, down marginally on the session. Sector rotation favored financials and diversified blue-chips across the Eurozone's major bourses, with the Euro Stoxx 50's supersector leaders maintaining a diversified profile.
