European Markets Trade Mixed to Lower Mid-Session
European bourses presented a mixed picture during their mid-session window, with major indices showing modest losses. The DAX declined 325.15 points or 1.29% to 24,814.54, marking the steepest drop among major European benchmarks. The CAC 40 fell 70.94 points or 0.84% to 8,329.17, while the FTSE 100 shed 67.71 points or 0.65% to 10,370.14.
The Euro Stoxx 50, Europe's blue-chip benchmark for the Eurozone, posted a slight gain of 18.19 points or 0.29% to close at 6,311.32 as of 18:00 GMT+2 on June 22. The broader STOXX Europe 600 index showed resilience, jumping 0.7% to 640, touching record highs during the session.
The divergence between the heavyweight DAX and the broader European gauge suggested sector-specific pressures rather than broad-based selling. German equities bore the brunt of the decline, with the DAX's 1.3% fall standing out against more modest losses in London and Paris.
